Why study Theatre at Brunel?

Do you have a passion for performance? Have you always been fascinated by big productions, plays and musicals?

If you aspire to work in today's vibrant and diverse theatre industry, Theatre at Brunel may be just what you need.

We’ll teach you more than just acting as you’ll learn the theoretical concepts and constructs that cross a range of theatre, performance and live art. You’ll have the opportunity to learn acting, applied drama, digital performance, directing, musical theatre, physical theatre and playwriting during your time at Brunel.

Our state-of-the-art Antonin Artaud building is the home of Theatre at Brunel. In this dedicated space for theatre and creative arts students you’ll find a number of facilities to support your learning. From large performance spaces, group work and performance practice to quality lighting and sound equipment for productions, we’ve got it covered so you can simply focus on honing your skills.  We sometimes also use the the Eastern Gateway Auditorium, in our Business School building, to present student work.

Theatre gives us the power to tell and understand stories of people and lives that are different to our own. This is why we are proud to have academics from diverse backgrounds and who dynamically support the cultures and lifestyles of our students and society in general. Our department is often described as its own special community within Brunel, academics take the time out to develop a relationship with students and that makes it easy for you to get in touch with any questions, support requests or feedback you may have. Our small seminar sizes often mean they’ll know you by name, not just as a student number.
