Our students are very supportive of each other – both creatively and personally. This support is particularly evident in the work of Studio Brunel, our student-led production company.
In my first year, a large group of us worked together to devise a final performance. Collaborating on such a large scale, with so many different creative voices contributing ideas, was both challenging and exciting. It became something really special because it helped us bond as a cohort and break the ice as new students.
What made it particularly memorable was how much life and energy we were able to bring to the final performance. Ending the piece with songs by Elton John created such an electric atmosphere. Seeing the audience respond so positively reminded me why I love theatre.
It was an extremely enriching time that helped shape my confidence early on in the course and gave me a real sense of belonging. It’s a moment that has stayed with me because it captured what studying theatre is really about: collaboration, risk-taking and discovering your voice alongside others
