Our theatre courses enable you to develop your creative skills in a wide range of performance techniques from acting and theatre making to musical theatre. They have a strong academic component ensuring that graduates have the skills needed to find work in the modern world in the Arts, Creative Industries, Education, or in wider societal roles. You’ll study different practitioners and techniques, alongside the role of the theatre in society. You can join our student production company, Studio Brunel, and take part in their busy schedule of activities.

Our graduates earn 27.4% above the sector median one year after graduation, this puts us 1st out of over 100 providers (LEO 2025).

Theatre BA

Designed for students who want to break into the theatre industries, our theatre studies course will give you the theoretical and practical learning experience you need across a range of forms of performance

Theatre and Creative Writing BA

Combine your studies with creative writing and you will gain a sound grounding in the fundamental techniques of fiction, poetry and theatre-writing. You’ll also appreciate what it takes to make it as a writer in the real world and make a living in a creative economy

Theatre and English BA

The BA Theatre and English is highly practice-focused and you will develop core skills in theatre making and performance while studying historical, theoretical and critical perspectives in literature

Film Production and Theatre BA

Alongside developing the key skills and approaches of contemporary film production, you’ll have the opportunity to study and specialise in a wide variety of skills-based strands ranging from acting, digital performance, directing, and playwriting

I chose Brunel because at 18 I didn't know exactly what area I wanted to specialise in, and Brunel offered so many options that I could explore in the first year and specialise as I progressed.
