The Women in Brunel Engineering and Computing (WiBEC) programme supports female graduates and undergraduates to attain their full potential in the engineering or computing industry sectors. The programme consists of a bespoke mentoring scheme (all mentors are professionals), personal professional development training and visits to industry.
This programme has developed from Brunel’s “Women in Engineering Programme”, which aimed to to help graduates promote themselves as engineers, have a better understanding of the career paths and opportunities available, and develop a network of key contacts to help them rise to the top of their profession. This initiative was recently commended by Athena SWAN assessors as a highly effective action to encourage women to seek high level careers in engineering, to this end we are now expanding the programme.
