Our programme

The Women in Brunel engineering and Computing (WiBEC) Mentoring programme supports female graduates and undergraduates to attain their full potential in the engineering or computing industry sectors. Piloted in 2014, the programme is a real success with over 600 female students benefitting from impartial advice and guidance from an industry mentor.  They have gained up to date career information and the chance to network with industry professionals as well as being invited to attend bespoke professional skills sessions.

The WiBEC Mentoring Programme consists of:

One-to-one mentoring from an industry mentor – min 2 hours per month

  • Late October 2022 to June 2023, or if studying Masters, till September 2023
  • Full time support from the Women in Engineering Mentoring Manager
  • Sponsored place @ WES Student Conference
  • Mentee of the Year 2023 Award

Industry led skills sessions to include:

  • Introduction to Mindfulness
  • Find out your top 5 strengths and how to use them – survey and workshop
  • Mock interviews / presentation skills & assessment centre task workshops
  • Speed networking
  • Mentoring circle support

Your commitment

  • Regular contact with your industry mentor
  • Attend training, Launch event and 2 other mentoring events
  • Feedback to the Mentoring Manager
