Our advanced clinical practice courses fully prepare you for a leadership role as an advanced practitioner in your relevant clinical profession or can help you move into a variety of senior positions within a range of healthcare settings.

There are an increasing number of advanced clinical practice roles and this master's will give you the relevant knowledge and skills to step into these positions. Potential roles you could assume include Advanced Clinical Practitioner or Case Manager.

Advanced Clinical Practice (Cardiovascular Health) 

The in-depth understanding of cardiovascular health gained on this course will prepare you for leadership roles within your specialist area. You’ll have acquired the skills and expertise to treat and improve the lives of people with cardiovascular disease.

This course is ideal for any health professional with a role in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, for example nurses, dietitians, physiotherapists, physical activity specialists, occupational therapists, physician associates, sports scientists, health promotion and public health specialists.

Advanced Clinical Practice (Critical Care) 

Following successful completion of this programme, you’ll be prepared for senior clinical or leadership positions within critical care settings and be able to apply for Band 7 or 8a roles in critical care with the NHS. 

Alternatively, you could progress to a PhD or research degree and enter into a clinical academic pathway.

Advanced Clinical Practice (Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation) 

This course will prepare you for careers in advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice within a range of healthcare settings. 

From the NHS and private practices, to the military, public or sports sector, our graduates are well equipped to make a positive impact and become innovative clinicians within their field.

You could also move into academic or clinical research roles or other healthcare related positions in industry.

Advanced Clinical Practice (Neurological Rehabilitation)

The skills learnt on this course will advance your career within the health and social care environment. You'll have acquired the expertise to improve the lives of people with disease, trauma or disorders of the nervous system in a multi-disciplinary and holistic way.

This course is ideal for clinicians with one or more years of experience, clinical leads, managers and research academics who are looking to develop and improve their expertise in neurology and rehabilitation.

Advanced Clinical Practice (Occupational Therapy)

The advanced studies of occupational therapy will mean that you’ll graduate with the skills and confidence to progress into a leadership role or an academic research role.

Advanced Clinical Practice (Pelvic Health)

The advanced clinical practice and understanding of pelvic health learnt on this course will help you to improve the quality of care you deliver to your patients. The course is ideal for physiotherapists, nurses, midwives specialising in postnatal care and health practitioners who treat pelvic floor dysfunction in urogynaecology, colorectal and urology.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

On successful completion of this course, you’ll be able to demonstrate a competency-based award in musculoskeletal ultrasound to employers. This will enable you to work autonomously as a musculoskeletal sonographer in a number of different clinical settings.
