Careers and your future

Your nursing degree will develop you into an innovative practitioner in the promotion of health, and the prevention of ill health, for individuals, groups and communities.

At Brunel, you’ll gain the knowledge to start a career in nursing and specialise in either Adult, Mental Health or Children’s Nursing*. NMC registration, with your degree, enables you to practise as a registered nurse in the UK so you’ll be entering a highly respected profession with excellent employment prospects.

If you have initial nurse or midwife registration and wish to become a specialist community public health nurse, Brunel offers three areas of specialist practice: Health Visiting, School Nursing or Occupational Health Nursing. As a result of this degree, you’ll improve your opportunities of progressing into a leadership or management role.

*These programmes will commence in September 2021, subject to approval by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. These courses will be open to Home and EU applicants only for 2021 entry. As a nursing student on one of our new undergraduate degrees in Adult, Child Health or Mental Health Nursing (subject to NMC approval), you could receive at least £5,000 a year grant funding which you don't need to pay back. See the UK government website for more information.
