Skills development

Your degree equips you with the knowledge for safe and effective practice as a skilled and confident nurse.

You’ll study an integrated theory and practice approach putting what you learned into real-world practice. During your degree, you’ll grow in your capacity to learn, lead, work across teams, assess public health provision and champion best-practice in your workplace.

A key feature of being a nurse is using your communication skills to develop better relationships with your patients. On your nursing degree, you’ll be challenged to develop vital communication skills such as effective verbal discussion, active listening, empathic understanding and relationship building.

Upon completion of your degree, you’ll leave Brunel a progressive, empowered and creative professional, proactive in the promotion of public health and wellbeing within our communities.
