Dr Ashley Reece
Senior Clinical Lecturer
Summary
I am delighted to have joined Brunel Medical School in August 2026 as a Senior Clinical Lecturer (Education), following over 20-years as a Consultant Paediatrician at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where I continue to practise one day a week (0.2 FTE).
I have had a long passion for Medical Education and teaching from my early days as a medical student, over 30 years ago. So it feels particularly 'full circle; to be returning to undergraduate medical education where it all began.
At Brunel I am deputising for the Medical School Admissions Lead ahead of taking on the role in full in time, and I am leading the design and delivery of the final-year Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA), aligned to the GMC’s Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA) framework.
I bring over two decades of medical education leadership, including national assessment roles with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), alongside a continuing clinical interest in paediatric allergy.
I ahve published in high impact factor medcial edcuattion journlas, and co-edited a paediatric outpatient text book.
