I led the project that secured ‘Teaching Hospital’ status for West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 2021 (West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust wins 'teaching' status | Watford Observer). Nationally, I chaired the RCPCH’s START assessment board (2012–2016), originating the first assessment of consultant readiness in UK paediatric training, which was the only formative end of training assessment in the UK. I served as RCPCH Officer for Assessment (2016–2021), overseeing the College’s assessment strategy and supporting its GMC curriculum revision submission. My work on undergraduate OSCE standard-setting is published in Medical Education, and I co-developed a medication safety huddle (the ‘Druggle’) that was a finalist for the HSJ Patient Safety Award and featured in the BMJ.
