About us

The GEE research brings together geotechnical engineering, geology, and environmental science to deliver new understanding of our geo-environment and critical infrastructure in diverse ecosystems, for predicting and preventing catastrophic failure and responding to the need for decarbonisation and energy security.

The GEE research group aims to enhance fundamental knowledge and provide real world solutions on low carbon geo-energy technologies centred on CO2 capture and storage (sequestration), and geology and geo-environmental hazards such as slope failures both onshore and offshore, earthquakes and scour effects, including their impact to critical infrastructure. This group is well equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities ranging from material characterisation, elemental and medium scale laboratory testing, to advanced computational and physical modelling. The depth and breadth of the research conduit academia, industry, and society at large.
