Brunel Hydrogen Nexus Vision

There is no existing open access facility that provides hydrogen production, storage, and applications facilities and expertise in one integrated test bed. Nexus will be a world-class centre of excellence accelerating the global hydrogen transition and redefining how clean technologies are developed and deployed. It will serve as an international hub where governments, academic institutions and industry can work together to accelerate hydrogen adoption, harmonise standards and share best practice. Unlike other hydrogen centres that focus solely on research or demonstration, Nexus brings together, using multiple business models, the entire hydrogen value chain, research, prototyping, pilot manufacturing, business acceleration, policy insight, and education under one roof.

• Consult with industry, government, researchers and other interested parties
• Develop an ambitious plan for a facility that also includes qualification and validation capability
• Identify a location
• Source Funding
• Nexus will make measurable contributions to several UN Sustainable Development Goals
