Our film degrees are designed to ensure your confidence in film practice and film theory grows, alongside a sound understanding of how the film and television industry works and of what kinds of careers might be available to you after you graduate.
Film, television and media are some of the most challenging industries to break into, and on our BA film studies courses we’ve developed a dedicated work experience module to help you prepare. We are often approached by media companies looking for students to help out on specific projects so you’re encouraged to take advantage of our extensive range of contacts in film and television production, distribution and exhibition in London, as well as in media, public relations and marketing.
Your work experience module will require completing a 70-hour placement with a suitable employer. This can be across a variety of different organisations. Former students have completed placements with the Pinewood Group Limited (film and television production facilities), Objective Media Group (television production company), Journeyman Pictures (film distribution company), BalletBoyz (Emmy-award winning dance and film company), WaterAid (international development charity), amongst many others.
