Meet the Team Colin Loughlin Head of Digital Education Colin leads the Digital Education Team and works across the University to promote the effective use of digital technologies that enhance academic practice and the student experience. Before joining the Brunel Team in May 2022, he has previously worked at The Open University, and most recently the University of Surrey. Colin’s research interests are higher education, with a focus on curriculum theory and large class teaching. Anastasios Vacalopoulos TEL Advisor - (CEDPS) Anastasios is the Technology-Enhanced Learning Adviser for the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences (CDEPS). Anastasios supports staff from the college with their use of Brunel's TEL Tools, including Brightspace, PebblePad, Poll Everywhere, Numbas, Padlet and also creates bespoke interactive content and activities using Articulate 360, Camtasia and the Adobe Suite. Louise Faux TEL Advisor (CBASS) Louise is the Technology Enhanced Learning Adviser for the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences (CBASS). Louise supports staff from the college with their use of Brunel's TEL Tools, including Brightspace, PebblePad and Poll Everywhere. Toby Thorne TEL Advisor (CHLS) Toby is the Technology Enhanced Learning Advisor for the College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS). Toby supports staff from the college with their use of Brunel's TEL Tools, including Brightspace, PebblePad and Panopto. Ewan Frances Digital Education Developer Ewan works to maintain and develop Brightspace and liaises closely with Information Services on issues regarding VLE updates, bug-fixes and upgrades. Ewan also supports other core learning technologies including WISEflow and PebblePad and provides TEL support to Central Services staff. Chelsea Dowman Brightspace (VLE) Trainer Chelsea is the Brightspace (VLE) Trainer and works across the university to train staff on how to use Brightspace. Training sessions are available both face-to-face and online. Gurdish Webster Multimedia officer Gurdish works in Digital Media & Technology Services; her role is IT Service Development & Multimedia Specialist. She works with academic/administrative staff to research, develop and plan materials from concept to output for teaching and learning and design and integrate digital media. She commenced work in the computer centre at Brunel University in 1997 and moved to Digital Media in 2009. The multimedia team provide a range of Professional services which can be found under the heading Multimedia. Vimal Dalal Multimedia Officer Vimal is a multimedia specialist within the Digital Education team. Vimal supports staff with the creation of video content and interactive multimedia content to deliver through Brightspace using Brunel’s TEL tools such as H5P, Medial, Panopto and the Adobe Suite of applications. Grant Forwood Digital Assessment Adviser Grant is one of the Digital Assessment Advisers within the Digital Media and Education Team. Grant supports academic departments (and central offices) across the university in relation to all aspects of digital assessment, through the use of WISEflow’s Digital Assessment Platform. Sulanie Peramunagama Digital Assessment Adviser Sulanie has worked as an educational technologist supporting learning design with technology, using and tailoring assessment management systems. She has a BSc in Information systems, a PGC in Education, an MSc in E-Learning technology and is a fellow of the HEA. Sulanie supports all aspects of digital assessment design and development across the university. Beatriz Lopez Digital Assessment Adviser Beatriz is one of the Digital Assessment Advisers within the Digital Media and Education Team. Beatriz provides support and expertise in Digital Assessment methods and practices helping staff across the university to implement and utilize the Digital Assessment Platform effectively.
