Colin Loughlin
Head of Digital Education
Colin leads the Digital Education Team and works across the University to promote the effective use of digital technologies that enhance academic practice and the student experience. Before joining the Brunel Team in May 2022, he has previously worked at The Open University, and most recently the University of Surrey. Colin’s research interests are higher education, with a focus on curriculum theory and large class teaching.

Data Analyst (Learning Analytics)
Joy is the Data Analyst in the Digital Education Team. She works across the University, and her role is focused on using data from learning technologies (BrightSpace, Panopto, WISEflow etc.) to enhance student engagement and experience.

Learning Technologist
Toby is the Technology Enhanced Learning Advisor for the College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS). Toby supports staff from the college with their use of Brunel's TEL Tools, including Brightspace, PebblePad and Panopto.

Learning Technologist
Chelsea is the Brightspace (VLE) Trainer and works across the university to train staff on how to use Brightspace. Training sessions are available both face-to-face and online.

Digital Learning Content Developer
Vimal is a multimedia specialist within the Digital Education team. Vimal supports staff with the creation of video content and interactive multimedia content to deliver through Brightspace using Brunel’s TEL tools such as H5P, Medial, Panopto and the Adobe Suite of applications.

Digital Assessment Adviser
Beatriz is one of the Digital Assessment Advisers within the Digital Media and Education Team. Beatriz provides support and expertise in Digital Assessment methods and practices helping staff across the university to implement and utilize the Digital Assessment Platform effectively.

Grant is one of the Digital Assessment Advisers within the Digital Media and Education Team. Grant supports academic departments (and central offices) across the university in relation to all aspects of digital assessment, through the use of WISEflow’s Digital Assessment Platform.

Digital Assessment Adviser
Sulanie has worked as an educational technologist supporting learning design with technology, using and tailoring assessment management systems. She has a BSc in Information systems, a PGC in Education, an MSc in E-Learning technology and is a fellow of the HEA. Sulanie supports all aspects of digital assessment design and development across the university.

Cecilia Lo Senior Educational Technologist (Innovation)
Cecilia is the Senior Educational Technologist for Innovation in the Digital Education Team. She works across the University to innovate digital education. In her role, she researches and disseminates effective digital pedagogies, contributes to strategic planning and the driving of digital education initiatives. Before joining Brunel in July 2024, she has previously worked at King’s College London and the University of Chicago.

Learning Technology Manager
As a Learning Designer, Educator and Academic Practitioner, Caitlyn is passionate about leveraging the power of digital learning to transform education. Caitlyn studied Archaeology and Human Rights Law at UBC and SOAS, and is teacher trained, graduating from University College London. After working in the legal and tech industries, Caitlyn obtained a Master’s degree in Social Innovation from the University of Cambridge in 2018, and has since worked at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and the University of Suffolk. Yasmin Musse
Learning Technologist
Yasmin is the Learning Technologist with overarching responsibility for student-centred digital education initiatives, as well as online learning within the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences (CEDPS). Yasmin plays a key role in guiding the use of Brunel’s digital learning tools—such as Brightspace and Panopto—across the college, working collaboratively with colleagues and academic staff to support consistent, high-quality digital learning experiences in Brightspace and with Brunel's other digital learning tools. With a background in student engagement and wellbeing, she brings a student-centred approach to digital education, drawing on her experience leading projects that supported student retention, academic transitions and wellbeing. She now applies these insights to co-create inclusive, engaging learning environments that foster connection, build confidence and strengthen a sense of community.

Learning Technologist
Peter is a Learning Technologist with extensive experience in the Higher Education sector, specialising in integrating technology to enhance teaching and learning. He collaborates closely with educators to implement innovative instructional strategies and digital tools. Using his solid background in pedagogy, learning design, and immersive technologies, Peter is dedicated to creating engaging, accessible learning experiences. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and Certified Member of ALT (CMALT), and remains at the forefront of educational technology through ongoing professional development and collaboration.
<span class='contactname'>Nesar Nadmin Talukdar</span>
Nesar Nadmin Talukdar
Nesar joined Brunel University as Digital Learning Coordinator (Medical School) in March 2023 and is part of the Digital Education Team. He is responsible for developing and releasing the Medical School's digital learning content to the Virtual Learning Environment (Brightspace). He also trains and supports staff and students with Brightspace, Panopto, Aiforia (Virtual Microscope), NHS E-Learning For Healthcare and other digital learning platforms. Nesar studied Computer Science at Brunel University and did a work placement at Philips Semiconductors in Southampton. After graduating, Nesar worked for a year at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, a German investment bank in London, as a Trading Application Support Analyst, supporting traders with the Fidessa and Global Order Management trading applications. Then, he worked for five years as an IT Officer at Brunel's Professional Development Centre and was responsible for the department’s website and IT. He also worked for four years as Manager (ERP Implementation) at InnStar Limited, a real estate and construction company in Bangladesh, where he worked to implement their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and led their small IT department to look after day-to-day IT issues.

Harjit Kemp
Learning Technologist
Harjit Kemp now a Learning Technologist experienced higher education professional with 19 years at Brunel University, now leading the development of CPD and short courses. She brings a strong background in academic administration, student lifecycle support, and digital systems including Brightspace, SITS, and WISEflow. Harjit has worked across Brunel’s colleges and is passionate about using technology to create accessible, impactful learning experiences.
