Late applications - applying after the UCAS deadline

Missed the UCAS deadline? Don’t panic - lots of students apply to Brunel after January, and many of our courses stay open into spring and early summer. Here’s how to take your next step.

Your questions answered

Can I still apply after the UCAS deadline?

Yes! Brunel continues to accept applications after the January UCAS equal consideration deadline. Many of our courses remain open through spring and early summer, but it’s best to apply as soon as you can, especially if you’re aiming for a popular course.

Apply through UCAS and we’ll assess your application on a rolling basis.

What if the course I want is already full?

Some courses close earlier than others because of high demand. If your first choice isn’t available, you can:

Our friendly Admissions team is always happy to help you understand your options and find the right pathway.

I've missed the UCAS deadline completely - what do I do next?

If you haven't applied at all by the UCAS deadline, you still have three options:

  • Apply late through UCAS: We’ll review your application on a rolling basis.
  • UCAS Extra (February - July): If you used all five choices and didn't receive and offer, or you declined them, you may be able to apply via UCAS Extra.
  • Clearing (July - October): If you’re without an offer later in the cycle, Clearing gives you another chance to join us in September.

What is UCAS Extra and can I use it?

UCAS Extra is designed for applicants who:

  • used all five choices
  • didn’t receive any offers, or
  • declined all offers.

If we still have spaces on your course, you can apply to us directly through UCAS Extra. You can check course availability on our website or using the UCAS course search.

What if I miss my offer reply deadline or change my mind?

If you miss your offer reply date, UCAS may automatically decline your offers - but don’t worry. You can still:

We'll alway do our best to help.

Can international students apply late?

Yes, international applicants can still apply - just make sure you allow time for:

  • CAS issuing
  • visa processing
  • arranging accommodation
  • preparing finances and travel.

The earlier you apply, the smoother the process will be.
