Our students have completed placements with leading organisations including Mars, Parexel and AstraZeneca, gaining first-hand experience in research, healthcare, biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry.
You may also have the opportunity to undertake a placement in an NHS laboratory, where you can develop practical diagnostic skills and work towards elements of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) Registration Training Portfolio. This can provide a strong foundation for a future career as a Biomedical Scientist.
Looking to gain experience overseas? Opportunities are also available abroad. Recent students have undertaken placements in research laboratories in Sicily, a biotechnology facility in Madrid and with Bayer in Berlin, combining professional development with exposure to different scientific and cultural environments.
