Inspirational alumni

Brunel biomedical sciences graduates go on achieve great things in the world of science and beyond.

Dr Hannah Critchlow (Cell and Molecular Biology BSc, 2003) is a neuroscientist with a background in neuropsychiatry. In 2014, she was selected as one of the UK’s Top 100 scientists by the Science Council for her work in science communication and also became Brunel University's Alumna of the Year.

Hannah is best known to the public for her role in the Naked Scientists, who describe themselves as a media-savvy group of physicians and researchers from Cambridge University who use radio, live lectures, and the internet to strip science down to its bare essentials, and promote it to the general public.

Biomedical sciences alumni aren’t just thriving in the world of science – some are professional athletes too!

Abobaker Eisa (Biomedical Sciences Immunology BSc, 2018) is currently a professional footballer at Shrewsbury Town FC who scored on his first start in the English Football League in April 2018!
