In line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Regulations, the general records held in the University Archives are open to the public, unless specific exemptions apply. Records containing personal data may be exempt from disclosure under GDPR.
Unable to visit the Reading Room?
We can carry out basic research subject to staffing. However, we cannot undertake complex research or data analysis on your behalf. In this case, you are welcome to arrange an appointment to visit us.
We normally try to undertake the research within 2 weeks.
Subject to copyright and staffing, we may be able to send electronic copies of records.
