Brunel University London Archives

The University Archives chart the history of Brunel University from Acton Technical College in 1928 through Brunel College of Technology in 1957 and finally to Brunel University in 1966 and the merger with West London Institute for Higher Education in 1995.

Holdings in brief

The holdings include:

  • Council and Senate and other University committee minutes, agendas and papers,
  • Student administrative papers,
  • Annual reports,
  • Undergraduate and Postgraduate prospectuses,
  • Photographs, 
  • Staff magazines
  • Student Union, including constitution, sporting photographs and student newsletters
  • Estates records
  • Academic staff papers
  • The Celia Brackenridge Archive - research and original sources relating to the development of advocacy and policy regarding child abuse and child protection in sport, in the UK and overseas, from the 1980s to 2000s.  This archive is in the process of being recatalogued, but viewing will be facilitated as much as possible to genuine researchers, by appointment and at the discretion of the Head of Archives.  Please apply for access by email to Arc-SC@brunel.ac.uk
