Dr Swash maintains an active programme of public engagement, knowledge exchange and international thought leadership across artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced 3D imaging and deep technology entrepreneurship. His outreach is grounded in a belief that advanced research delivers its greatest value when it is translated, communicated and tested in the world beyond the academy — through industry deployment, policy contribution, international academic exchange and direct engagement with the wider scholarly community.

Knowledge exchange and translation

Dr Swash's research has been translated into industrial application through entrepreneurial activity in AI enabled autonomous systems for industrial logistics, with live commercial deployments across the world in partnership with several of the largest global port operators. This work has demonstrated the path from advanced university research to fully deployed industrial technology at scale, and to commercial impact in critical infrastructure and global supply chains. He was shortlisted for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards in recognition of this contribution.
