Project details

  • EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership Studentship - UKRI / EPSRC Funded Project | Duration: 2018 – 2022: Led research on intelligent and adaptive nozzle systems for concrete 3D printing, contributing to advances in autonomous additive manufacturing for construction. Principal Investigator.
  • IoRL Internet of Radio Light - H2020 EU Funded Project | Duration: 2017 – 2020: Developed a hybrid Visible Light Communication and 5G millimetre wave network for indoor environments, delivering high speed, low latency and secure connectivity. The technology was demonstrated through a portable system at the Building Research Establishment with performance suitable for short range applications such as aircraft and train communications. Co-Investigator.
  • CEPROQHA Cost Effective High Quality Preservation and Restoration of Qatar Cultural Heritage - Qatar National Research Fund | Duration: 2016 – 2019: Developed a bespoke 3D holoscopic imaging paradigm using advanced cost effective technologies for the acquisition, reconstruction, curation and presentation of cultural heritage assets, enabling accessible and accurate 3D replication of Qatari heritage objects. Co-Investigator.
  • 3DVIVANT 3D liVe Immerse Video Audio iNteractive multimedia - FP7 EU Funded Project | Duration: 2010 – 2013: Investigated the generation of a novel true 3D video technology based on mixed 3D holoscopic video content capture and associated manipulation, imaging and display technologies. Research Associate.
  • Operational Risk Analysis and Management - EPSRC and Barclays Bank Funded Project | Duration: 2009 – 2010: Investigated AI enabled algorithms for operational risk identification and management in financial institutions under conditions of uncertainty. Research Associate.
  • RUSHES Retrieval of Multimedia Semantic Units for Enhanced Reusability - FP6 EU Funded Project | Duration: 2007 – 2009: Designed, implemented and validated a system for the indexing, accessing and delivery of raw, unedited audio visual footage. The project targeted indexing, search and retrieval of rushes archives to enable in house postproduction and reuse in professional environments through a multimodal approach combining metadata extraction, visualisation and interactive browsing. Research Associate.
