Phase Identification and Quantification by X-ray Diffraction (XRD)
The Experimental Techniques Centre (ETC) provides X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis for the identification and characterisation of crystalline phases in a wide range of materials.
Our XRD phase identification service is UKAS accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 (Laboratory No. 2245), demonstrating our technical competence and commitment to delivering reliable and quality-assured analytical results.
X-ray Diffraction is a powerful, non-destructive analytical technique used to identify crystalline materials by comparing the diffraction pattern produced by a sample with internationally recognised reference databases. The technique is widely used for material identification, quality control, research and failure investigations.
In addition to UKAS-accredited phase identification, we also offer XRD-based phase characterisation and quantitative analysis where appropriate, providing valuable information on the composition and behaviour of crystalline materials.
