Postgraduate Virtual Open Day

Find out what it's like to study at Brunel from wherever you are in the world. Explore all aspects of university life through our subject sessions and presentations from our support services. Talk to our staff and students via the live chat and discover what Brunel has to offer you as a postgraduate student.

How to plan your virtual open day

To make the most of your day, please create a Unibuddy account beforehand and be logged in and ready to join us at 1pm (BST). Our online event runs until 4pm (BST) and is split into four live sessions:

  1. Academics will be running subject presentations promptly at either 1.30pm (BST) or 2.30pm (BST). It is important to check the timing of your subject session below in advance. The video presentation will be accompanied by a live chat feature where you can post your questions. Please make sure you arrive on time for the presentation on your chosen course.
  2. There are several presentations from support services. Do check the programme for exact timings.
  3. From 1pm-4pm (BST), there is the opportunity to instant message our support services and get all your questions answered about life at Brunel.
  4. Additionally, a research specific session will run from 1.30pm-4pm (BST) for those interested in Postgraduate Research.

Our top tips for the day:

  • our open day will be held on the Unibuddy events platform, so give yourself a few extra minutes to register there (if you haven't done it yet);
  • make sure you have a comfortable place to sit and your room is as quiet as possible so that you can hear us (alternatively the use of earphones is advised);
  • plan your day, so you know when you need to log in for the sessions that you are interested in;
  • start collecting your questions in advance: writing down the questions you might want to ask will help you to get all the information you need on the day;
  • go on a virtual tour, so you can explore in advance our teaching and social spaces, and our on-campus accommodation;
  • ask your friends or family to join you, so you can discuss the day as it's always good to get a second opinion;
  • make sure your device is charged and have a charger in case your battery runs low;
  • have a notepad and pen at the ready to make notes.
