Student Projects

As part of their studies, Civil Engineering MEng students learn the techniques and strategies for carrying out assessments of engineering infrastructure assets. They learn to apply existing tools and techniques for managing engineering infrastructure and how to develop maintenance plans.

In these projects, students have applied their skills to assess the structure of bridges, identifying defects and making recommendations for their maintenance. Through site visits and use of existing documentation the students have produced projects that demonstrate their professional working knowledge of how to carry out a condition assessment of an engineering infrastructure asset.
