Botwell Canal Bridge Inspection

My name is Radim and I am currently studying MSc Structural Engineering. Prior to studying for my MSc, I completed a Civil Engineering BEng (1st Class Hons.) degree at Brunel. My time as a student has been a great experience and this has encouraged me to pursue a PhD. I intend to build on what I have attained so far which is an ethos the university actively promotes. Below is a sample of work I have produced as an MSc student for the Infrastructure Management module available at Brunel. I hope it provides insight into what prospective students will be learning during their time on the course.

Bridge assessment:

This bridge is estimated to have been built/rebuilt in the 19th/20th century and is designed to carry traffic and pedestrians over the canal. It has cement paste applied in patches to the reinforced concrete beams located on the underside of the bridge. There are plans for the bridge to be extended in width which will require further strengthening. This will enable a separated footpath and cycle path.

Overall the condition of the bridge is good.
