The Project

Digital technology has provided new opportunities to capture the knowledge and skills from crafts people and apply them in the new context. This PhD project will explore how digital technology (such as Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality) can be used to enhance craft production (e.g., through co-production between the craft worker and the consumer) and skills training (e.g., immersive learning enabled by technology), and develop prototypes to test on selected crafts.

Please contact Professor Hua Dong at hua.dong@brunel.ac.uk for an informal discussion about the studentships.
