ID Documents for students who live overseas (not in the UK)
As a part of your DBS application your identity needs to be confirmed. In order to do this you need to provide three original identity documents (photocopies are not accepted) to a Professional Verifier in your home country.
If you are living in the UK, please refer to the ID documents for students living in the UK.
What documents do you need to provide?
You must provide three documents: one document must be from Group 1 and two further documents can be from any of the following: Group 1, 2a or 2b.
Collectively, they must confirm:
- Current legal name;
- Date of birth;
- Current address.
Group 1 - Primary Trusted Identity Documents
- Passport (any current and valid passport)
- eVisa (accessed via the 'view and prove' service
Group 2A - Trusted Government/State issued Documents
The following document must still be valid:
- Current driving licence photocard (full or provisional) - all countries outside the UK
Group 2B - Financial/Social History Documents
The following document must still be valid and cannot be an online printed document:
- Letter of sponsorship from future UK employment provider (this document would be your brunel offer letter, if you wish to use this option, please email dbs@brunel.ac.uk and request for your offer letter to be sent to you in the post).
This document must be issued within the past 3 months and cannot be an online printed document:
- Bank or building society statement - countries outside the UK (for applicants living outside the UK. Branch must be located in the country in which the applicant lives).
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
Please note, applicants may be subject to further 'right to work' checks as evidenced by the ID documents they are asked to submit for the DBS application, this is in line with current Government guidelines.
If you are unable to provide sufficient documentation from the list, please contact the Admissions Office on 01895 265265 or email DBS@brunel.ac.uk
