If you have a passion for theatre and would like to learn how to bring your ideas to life on stage, Brunel’s Theatre BA will equip you with specialist creative skills in a range of performance genres like physical, musical and digital theatre as you grow your knowledge of theatre history and theory.
Blended learning is a feature of the course which includes a mix of practical classes in acting, writing and ensemble production, together with more theoretically focussed content alongside your own private study.
Study theatre at Brunel and you’ll become part a rich community of creative students, artists and academics with a variety of opportunities to collaborate through acting, directing, playwriting and production.
You’ll learn in Brunel’s purpose-built Antonin Artaud Performance Centre (AA), which is rather like being in drama school with its main theatre, two studio spaces, rehearsal rooms and recording studios.
AA facilities regular host Arts@Artaud nights showcasing new music, film, creative writing and drama presented by Brunel students.
Off campus, Brunel’s easy access to central London helps to facilitate regular class trips to see West End productions as well as events at the Barbican, National Theatre and Royal Court.
Established links with the theatre industry means we regularly host talks from guest speakers and alumni which help towards your professional development and industry knowledge.
Additionally, the option of a work placement year is an unmissable opportunity to find out where your interests lie and to increase your attractiveness to future employers.
Brunel students have completed placements at a variety of arts and arts related organisations, including the Park Theatre in London, Rose Wisksteed Casting, The Vaults, Unicorn Theatre, Icarus Theatre Company, and the Grieg City Academy.
There are many uses for a love of theatre beyond acting, writing and directing. Drama skills are increasing sought in variety of fields like arts administration, teaching, drama therapy, radio, speech writing and corporate training.
