Qualifications: BEng

Shu-Mei Tan received a BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Surrey in 2016. In the penultimate year of her degree, she completed a placement year at BIC as a project technical assistant. During her placement year, she gained experience in system testing, finite element analysis, data analysis, optimizing systems and system integration in Non-Destructive Testing with her contribution towards several European research projects.

In 2017, she joined BIC as a research assistant and is currently involved in the signal processing algorithm development for UltraHandMan project which focuses on NDT for aircraft wiring based on Ultrasonic Guided Waves.
