Arts Therapies effectiveness with specific populations: a mixed methods study

Arts therapies are being developed in a range of private and public contexts around the globe. There is growing evidence that arts therapies support people's communication, emotional expression, social cognition and capacity to be reflective. The main aim of this project is to use quantitative and qualitative data to investigate the effectiveness and experience of receiving arts therapies. In most cases this will mean initially developing a pilot or feasibility study. This PhD would suit arts therapist researcher-clinicians or researchers with a strong interest in the therapeutic use of arts.
