The Hillingdon Hospital is an acute and specialist services provider in North West London, close to Heathrow Airport. The organisation provides the majority of services from the Trust and it is the only acute hospital in Hillingdon with a busy Accident and Emergency, inpatients, day surgery, and outpatient clinics.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will improve the quality of life for the patients by ensuring the garden is an inviting environment to spend time away from the ward whilst the patient is admitted or visiting the hospital. As a Garden Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to cultivate a sense of community and transform outdoor spaces, developing gardening skills, fostering creativity, and engaging with residents.
Typical duties include:
- Assisting with keeping the garden area tidy and safe
- Liaising with estates team to ensure waste bins are emptied as necessary
- Tidying and weeding flower beds and patio area
- Planting occasionally donated seasonal flower
Please note, this organisation requires a minimum 6 months commitment in addition to two references and a DBS check (fully funded).
