Independent study plays a key role too. You’ll explore current issues in leadership, digital transformation, innovation and organisational change through guided reading, research and reflection. You’ll also have access to Brightspace, our virtual learning environment. It’s where you’ll find module materials, reading lists, lecture resources, assessment guidance, discussion forums and digital tools to support your studies. You can also access online library resources, including journals, e‑books and databases, whenever you need them. Full teaching arrangements will be confirmed in the validated programme specification.
Access to a laptop or desktop PC is required for joining online activities, completing coursework and digital exams, and a minimum specification can be found here.
We have computers available across campus for your use and laptop loan schemes to support you through your studies. You can find out more here.
Students learn through a mix of lectures, seminars, workshops, applied projects, group work, careers activities and independent study. The campus experience is supported by academic staff, the Student Development Centre, the Academic Skills service, library resources, industry engagement and peer learning.
You’ll learn by doing - analysing real cases, tackling live organisational problems and working with others to test ideas in practice. Lectures introduce key concepts and frameworks, while seminars and workshops give you the space to debate, question and apply them. Consultancy‑style projects and simulations help you experience what leadership looks like in fast‑moving, digitally driven environments.
Throughout the course, you’ll take part in discussions, presentations and collaborative tasks that build your confidence as a communicator and team member. You’ll also strengthen your analytical and strategic thinking through guided research and self‑directed learning, supported by access to Brightspace and the University’s online library.
