Are you looking forward to living with roommates on campus? Here are some tips for you!

  • Being considerate

It goes without saying that everyone has different living habits. It could be even more challenging to live with roommates from various parts of the globe due to cultural differences. However, it shouldn’t be a big deal as long as they won’t disturb others. Therefore, we should try putting ourselves into others’ shoes if possible.

  • Division of labour

Housework is an inevitable part of hall life. It would be a good practice to set up a rota to share together. In this way, everybody is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the flat/house while conflicts can be minimized.

  • Joining gatherings

It’s convenient to keep in touch with roommates because of the living proximity. We can make good use of the variety of festivals throughout the academic year to build up friendships with our roommates. Celebrating festivals, parties and games is a nice way to get to know each other and leads to an enjoyable campus life.

Hope these tips help! Wish you a cheerful uni life at Brunel 😊
