Tell us about your educational and/or career journey since you graduated from Brunel?
Since I graduated from Brunel, I have been working in the Computer Engineering department at Taif University as an Assistant Professor of Wireless Communications and Drones Systems. In my career journey so far, I have been appointed as the Director of the General Requirement Centre (GRC) at the Deanship of Supportive Studies at Taif University, managing over 30,000 students. Research-wise, I have managed to publish many research articles in respected journals and conferences.
What does a typical day at work involve for you?
Teaching wireless communication courses; supervising final year projects within the Computer Engineering department; conducting research activities; developing courses; and managing and supervising professional development programs.
What’s been the highlight of your career journey so far?
I managed to secure a research grant, establish new courses, and was a finalist in the 2020 Study UK Alumni Awards in the Social Impact category. I have also been part of many scientific research activities nationally and internationally.
How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?
I would say my Brunel experience was been brilliant right from the start, where I was received with open arms. I believe that the open-minded environment and diversity of both lecturers and students brought out my true potential and helped me to learn more about accepting differences.
Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?
Brunel has globally recognised professors and an excellent educational atmosphere. This also includes the social activities inside and outside of the university, which truly have inspired me to come back and do something good for my home country.

EVERYTHING!
If you could give one piece of advice to current Brunel students, what would that be?
Brunel is a forward-thinking, innovative, world class institution with close industry ties globally. To young undergrads/postgrads planning the first steps in their career, Brunel will offer an invaluable experience and opportunities for growth. Embrace it and take up the challenge.
What would be your top tip or key advice for new graduates as they begin their career journey after leaving Brunel?
Be yourself and take your time. Do not just accept the first job offer you receive; spend time evaluating your options. Every career choice has a significant impact on your future and your life. Do not get disappointed if you do not get a job offer right away. Remember, better things come to those who wait!
