The Appointment of New Fellows
Fellows
The Institute has begun a process of inviting senior practitioners to be ‘Fellows’. The idea is to value experience, knowledge, mature craft, wisdom even. To represent long-term understandings the understanding of quality in new-music making, across musical borders.
As well as support and guidance we are asking Fellows to become practically involved, for example taking part in videos about composing, creating toolboxes for young composers etc.
We are very happy to announce that the first four, Colin Matthews, Howard Skempton, Evan Parker and Richard Barrett have accept our invitation.
“I'd be honoured to be part of this. It will be good to have an opportunity to formulate and articulate ideas in a fundamental way”. Richard Barrett.
