Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a charity providing volunteering within healthcare to transform the way that care is provided.  The organisation serves a large and diverse local population, playing a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to patients, and serving the community also by maximising the opportunities available to volunteers.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role you be supporting the smooth and efficient operation of patient care within the hospital ward. As a Ward Helper Volunteer, you will improve your communication skills, empathy and ability to contribute to the well-being and care of others.

Typical duties include:

  • Offering emotional support and companionship to patients
  • Assisting patients with various daily activities
  • Assisting with meal times and ensuring that dietary preferences and restrictions are considered
  • Supporting Nursing staff running errands

Please note, this organisation requires a minimum 6 months commitment for 4 hours per week in addition to two references and a DBS check (fully funded).
