Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a charity providing volunteering within healthcare to transform the way that care is provided.  The organisation serves a large and diverse local population, playing a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to patients, and serving the community also by maximising the opportunities available to volunteers.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role you interact assist staff and patients around the hospital with tasks such as patient flow in outpatient clinics, giving directions, providing wheelchairs and so on. As a Responder you will acquire communication and interpersonal skills, confidence, resilience and experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Typical duties include:

  • Maintaining good communication with hospital staff, patients, family members, and other to provide updates and relay important information
  • Assisting in transporting patients to areas within the hospital
  • Ensuring patients gets seamless and comprehensive care
  • Acting quickly and decisively during emergencies gathering crucial information about the nature and severity of the incident

Please note, this organisation requires a minimum 6 months commitment for 4 hours per week in addition to two references and a DBS check (fully funded).
