Teaching and learning
Facilities for teaching
In addition to our facilities for individual researchers, Special Collections can also accommodate workshop groups in our reading room. This is available both for internal groups and groups external to Brunel.
Groups using Special Collections must be booked in advance, and preferably giving plenty of notice. Items from Special Collections may be available to support group teaching, and requests for this material should be made at least two weeks before the proposed session. Please contact us with any questions or to make a booking.
On Mondays - Wednesdays Special Collections staff can provide an introduction to the collections, guidance on searching for material and advice on handling collection items.
Teaching already taking place
Teaching already taking place has focussed both on individual collections, such as the Burnett Archive, or taken a more thematic approach, such as women's history. Case studies may be found on our blog.
