Brunel emails

Students and staff have access to their Brunel emails from anywhere around the world. Staff and Postgraduate Research students can use Outlook Web Access. On campus, staff have access to Outlook with features like the calendaring and information sharing through Public Folders.

Undergraduate students, Alumni members and Postgraduate students have access to email via @my.brunel service based on Google Apps for Education programme. To access your emails, click here.

How do I log on?

You can sign into Google mail in two ways:

1. The URL www.brunel.ac.uk/webmail, using your student number in the Email field , followed by the network password.

2. The URL http://mail.my.brunel.ac.uk, using your student number in the Email field , followed by network password

What is my account username and password?

Your username will be your student number e.g. 0123456. Your password is your Brunel Network account password.

I've forgotten my password. How can I reset it?

You can reset your password via the Password Portal at http://www.brunel.ac.uk/password provided you have registered for this service. If you have not registered for this service, it is important that you do so as soon as is possible. If you are an Alumni student and you have not registered for Password Self Service then you will need to contact the Alumni and Development Office to get your password reset.

How long do my deleted emails stay in my @my.brunel account?

If a student or alumnus deletes an email from their @my.brunel account, it will stay in the Bin folder for 30 days. After which it will be gone forever and we will have no way of retrieving the messages for them. We would therefore strongly advise you to archive messages when you know you don’t want the email. Select the “archive” message button – On the top of the messages the one with the downward arrow. The message will be removed from view and it won’t clutter your Inbox. You can always retrieve it at a later date via searches .

Can I keep both my personal Google account and my @my.brunel account open in the same browser?

No. We suggest that you use one browser for your personal Google account and a different browser for your @my.brunel account.

Can I merge an existing Google account with my @my.brunel account?

Google does not allow you to merge separate Google accounts however you can change the settings in one account so that mail is forwarded to the other account. This is explained in more detail at: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=10957.
