Summary

Hello, everyone!

I appreciate your visit to my profile. Having worked in the aerospace, automotive, construction, retail, and food industries for more than 20 years, I have gained extensive knowledge. Now, as I transfer to academics, I bring a wide range of skills. During my professional journey, I have honed my skills in mentoring, coaching, and leadership while providing guidance to individuals in different businesses. My goal as a prospective graduate teaching assistant is to spark inquiry and foster academic success. As a dedicated PhD researcher, I prioritise mentoring students in order to help them achieve their goals. Additionally, I place a high value on sustainability. My goal is to create a collaborative academic environment that encourages creativity and originality by utilising my excellent communication and problem-solving skills. My primary objective is to achieve substantial change in academia through active involvement in teaching, research, and mentorship. I was awarded a leadership certificate for my outstanding team leadership skills in developing innovative strategies to improve the welfare of refugees in Zambia's Mayukwayukwa settlement.

I recently completed a pedagogy and instructional strategies training programme at Brunel University London, with a focus on demonstrations and graduate teaching assistants (GTAs). I have been honoured with several industrial accolades, including the highly esteemed Best Interactive Coaching Leader award, in recognition of my outstanding management and supervision of several projects. I have effectively implemented six-sigma projects at the white belt, yellow belt, and green belt levels, leading to significant cost reductions amounting to thousands of pounds within a three-year business strategy. In addition, I have led lean and 5S Kaizen workshops for many businesses. I have a strong interest in subjects like carbon capture, reducing emissions, transitioning to a circular economy, recycling plastic polymers, polypropylene, 3D printing, and creating sustainable solutions. My transferrable industrial expertise includes using lean application to design high-quality manufacturing processes, implementing sustainable engineering practices, addressing process reduction and manufacturing waste through lean applications, conducting FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), utilising 5Y (Five Whys), 8D (Eight Disciplines), FISH-BONE (Cause and Effect Diagram), and A3 (A3 Problem Solving) methodologies, conducting studies on machine performance capabilities, implementing TQM (Total Quality Management) principles, identifying and eliminating the 8 wastes,  applying the 6 Sigma Framework, DMAIC, PDCA, and APQP strategic planning frameworks are designed to enhance sustainability and encourage individuals to understand their impact on the environment, identify their purpose, and determine how they may contribute value to the planet.
