Smart Portable and Fast Acute Myocardial Infarction Detection Device for Ambulance Crew Use

In a ground-breaking stride towards revolutionizing cardiac emergency care, Professor Wamadeva Balachandran and his illustrious team at Brunel University London, in collaboration with Harefield Hospital, are spearheading the development of an innovative, life-saving device. This compact, pioneering technology stands poised to transform the way heart attacks are detected – swiftly and accurately, even before a patient reaches the hospital. Crafted with precision and care, this handheld marvel is not just a device; it's a beacon of hope. It employs state-of-the-art sensors and intelligent algorithms, akin to a high-tech health detective, to identify critical heart attack markers in real time. The aim is clear and profound: to equip first responders and paramedics with the power to diagnose and act decisively, delivering urgent care when every second counts. This remarkable innovation is more than a leap in medical technology; it's a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence and compassion in healthcare. As this device moves closer to becoming a staple in ambulances, it holds the promise of safeguarding hearts and saving lives, heralding a new era of responsive and advanced emergency cardiac care.

The hardware that has been completed so far consists of the following main components. The first is a ranging sensor, which is used as an alternative to blood detection of the input after it has passed through the amplifier. There is also an ESP32 chip that utilizes its Bluetooth module for data transmission. Finally, there is a power supply module to power the entire board.

The software visualization interface is shown below. The functions that are already available mainly consist of connecting to the class via Bluetooth from the computer. After that the range sensor is activated and the range sensor measurements are plotted enough to be able to save and output.
