As an international student, it was really important for me to study in a secure and comfortable place. My professors were always open to answer questions and guide me through my learning process.

Tell us about your career journey since you graduated…

Obtaining a master's degree in Biomedical, Biomechanics and Bioelectronics Engineering at Brunel University definitively changed my life. I improved not only my academic but also my professional skills. When I returned to my country, my degree helped me to obtain many more opportunities. Currently, I am achieving one of my dreams by working in the Biomedical Engineering field.

What does an average day at work involve for you?

Busy but enriching moments are part of my daily life. Nowadays, I am in touch with a wide range of medical devices for different applications. As a Biomedical Engineering Services Adviser, I have to provide customers with technical service in specialized equipment. The range of devices I work with include sterilization and laboratory equipment.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?

Thanks to all the knowledge that I acquired at Brunel, I was able to find an excellent job. My position has allowed me to establish commercial and technical links with people from all over the world. I continue learning and I feel that I am growing in a professional way.

How would you say Brunel helped you to get where you are today?

The contribution of Brunel for achieving my goals is invaluable. I acquired enough knowledge related to the biomedical field that helped me to apply for my current position in a medical devices company. I learned interesting manners from many other cultures. Besides, I enhanced my English skills. This is particularly important for my job, as I have to contact international brands.

Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?

To be honest, Brunel attracted me in two different ways. Academic excellence was the main reason why I chose Brunel. All professors have an excellent profile. On the other hand, it offered me all the facilities for completing my degree. As I was an international student, it was really important for me to study in a secure and comfortable place.

What is your best memory of studying here?

Although I remember lots of good things from my experience at Brunel, my professors deserve a special place in my memories. They were always open to answer questions and to guide me through my learning process. I learned a lot from my dissertation tutor. He encouraged me to do my best that apart from completing my project, I was able to publish my work in an academic journal.

If you could give one piece of advice to new students, what would that be?

Definitively my advice for new students is do not doubt to study at one of the best universities in London. It will help you to achieve your dreams and to advance you in your career. All the academic and the administrative staff are always willing to help you in case you have a problem.

What would be your top tip or advice for new graduates as they begin their career journey?

New graduates should keep in mind that their career journey will never finish. There is always present the opportunity to achieve even better results. In my opinion, Brunel University not only prepares you for obtaining a good job, but it also prepares you to be the best and the most passionate about what you do.
