Biography

Second Lieutenant Lewis James Stribling was the son of Mrs A. M. Stribling and Mr L. T. Stribling. He attended Borough Road College for two years, graduating with an Intermediate Sciences qualification. Whilst at the college he competed in an inter-college sports day in 1913. He is listed as being destined for a school in Birmingham after leaving the college. Stribling enlisted in September 1914 into the Royal Engineers and rose to Corporal before being commissioned into the 329th Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery. He was killed on 13 November, aged 26.
