Brunel's graduates among the world's most employable

Brunel University London has been ranked the 14th best UK university for producing the most employable graduates, as listed in the Global University Employability Ranking 2022.

Published this week by the Times Higher Education, and designed by HR consultancy Emerging, the list is based on insights from thousands of top international employers – and it's the employability ranking consulted the most by recruiters.

The ranking is the result of Emerging's analysis of over a million university reviews, and reveals the world's top 250 universities that recruiters at top companies think are best at preparing students for the workplace.

This is the first time Brunel has appeared in the annual rankings since they were launched in 2010.

The analysis looks at key employability drivers that recruiters consider the most when it comes to judging the quality of a university, including graduate skills (the #1 driver), digital performance and internationality.

"Our ranking is the reward for the breadth and depth of the employability support and opportunities Brunel students have," said Prof Geoff Rodgers, the University's Pro Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise and Employment. "From the start of their time with us, we work with our students to help them plan for their future.

"Over 95 per cent of our courses offer the invaluable, skill-enhancing experience of an industry placement, and all of our students have access to first-class coaching, mentoring and networking."

For Oliver Wallington, Concept Manager at LEGO, the world's largest toy company, the benefits Brunel students bring are clear. "LEGO’s Product Technology department has been active with Brunel Design students for over seven years," he said. "We have been very impressed with the competence and versatility of our Brunel interns, and they have been a part of developing great LEGO products."

The support at Brunel includes the Professional Development Centre, which works with students to develop their professional skills and get them ready for work, self-employment or further study in the UK or abroad.
