The work we conduct has a direct impact on our teaching and learning so our students are some of the first to benefit from our research efforts. However it also influences regional, national and international society. Our research work is well respected within industry and this has led to researchers being funded or working on funded projects for bodies as diverse as the BFI, PwC, BBC World Service Trust and the British Academy.
