Rugby World Cup is coming to campus

The William Webb Ellis cup will make a flying visit to the Brunel campus this weekend as part of a 100-day trophy tour to promote the biggest tournament in international rugby.

The world-famous trophy will be on display in the Indoor Athletics Centre from 10am to noon on Saturday 29 August - and rugby fans are encouraged to have their photo taken alongside it.

James Budkiewicz, Head of Sport at Brunel, said: "We're extremely excited to be able to host the trophy, particularly given that we are now only 20 days away from the tournament kick off. Having the trophy on campus gives students the chance to get a little closer to what is undoubtedly going to be a tournament to remember."

Brunel University London works closely with the Rugby World Cup. The French squad will use the university's world-class sports facilities in September for three days of training in preparation for their game against Italy.
