The organisation has local project partners helping to build local skills and experience to support communities, campaigning allies to boost the campaigning issues, corporate partners encouraging donating and fundraising, institute and governments providing funding, and suppliers supporting campaigning building.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will help one of Oxfam`s shops to raise crucial funds for its emergency and development work. As a Charity Shop Volunteer, you will gain experience in supporting global initiatives, acquiring insights into the operations of a charitable retail establishment, and cultivating knowledge of store management and customer engagement.
Typical duties include:
- Providing assistance and service to customers within the shop premises
- Designing captivating displays throughout the store to enhance visual appeal
- Sorting and valuing donated items, subsequently listing them on Oxfam’s Online Shop.
- Promoting shops to the nearby community through effective utilisation of social media platforms
Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
