Blind Veterans- Social Club Helper (Uxbridge)

Details of the Charity:

We believe that no one who has served our country should have to battle blindness alone.

All blind veterans should have access to the finest quality of services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

Our lunch and social clubs provide crucial social interaction for our veterans, who often feel isolated or lonely. This is their chance to get together, meet other blind veterans and have a good old chat over some great food.

We are looking for a very organised volunteer, with a great sense of teamwork and leadership. Someone who is helpful, not afraid of a little hard work and has an understanding of older visually impaired people’s needs.

We’d like to find someone confident enough to coordinate the monthly lunch clubs in Uxbridge: from dealing with our existing venue, helping with the invites, arranging transport for our veterans and making sure everything runs smoothly and a good time is had by all on the day.
