International Medical Anthropology
The International Medical Anthropology Research Group is an interdisciplinary research group. It brings together scholars, policy makers and practitioners committed to alleviating inequality and suffering from disease whilst simultaneously contributing to broader theoretical debates in the arena of global health medical anthropology and Disability Studies. It was established in 2007.
Our Aims:
- To co-ordinate and promote research in the anthropology of global health and disability
- To contribute to debates relevant to international policy makers and practitioners (such as the relationship between evidence, policies and practice)
- To contribute to debates current in anthropology in the light of research undertaken in the arena of global health
- To provide mentoring, training and research skills to junior academics interested in international medical anthropology
- To create an externally visible profile for research undertaken at Brunel University in International Medical Anthropology
