Running a company with a dedicated team in my second year is definitely the biggest academic highlight at Brunel. It's very unique for a university to offer such an experience and Brunel has been very supportive along the way of our progression.

Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?

From all the open days that I went to in Year 13, Brunel gave me a unique and welcoming vibe. I always follow my gut feelings in most life decisions I make, and I am happy to say that coming to Brunel has been one of the best decisions I have made so far.

What has been the highlight for you studying at Brunel / your best memory of studying here?

Running a company with a dedicated team in my second year of my studies is definitely the biggest academic highlight at Brunel. It's very unique for a university to offer such an experience and Brunel has been very supportive along the way of our progression. The lectures and seminars are very useful and interactive so we can learn from each other.

It's also the people that I have met so far. Whether it is my flatmates, course mates or the people I have acquainted with throughout my journey of studying at Brunel. They have all played an important part of my life since some of them became my closest friends.

What support did Brunel give you?

Brunel has offered me opportunities to improve my skills. Since studying at Brunel, I have been more open to try new things, more social than ever before and have really enjoyed studying about what I'm passionate about. The lifestyle on campus has made me more organised by making me manage my time more efficiently. Balancing my social, work and academic life can get tricky sometimes but I have been getting better to do so.

Tell us about your placements. How did Brunel help you with your placements?

The placement module in my second year has prepared me to take on the challenges that it takes to apply and get accepted by the companies that offer these opportunities. It was very useful because they taught me how to form my CV and cover letter, so I stand out from the crowd.

What are your future career plans after you graduate?

My future plan is to be an entrepreneur and have my own businesses. The course, Entrepreneurship and Innovation has taught me very important business skills while working on the company that we created with my group. This experience has reassured me that this is exactly what I enjoy doing and is something that I want to do in the future as my career.

What would be your top tip or advice for new students as they begin their journey at Brunel?

Make time for everything you want to do. Be consistent about your routines of studying, socialising and any other activities that you do and you will have a great time here, at Brunel!
