Learn to calculate, analyse and propose mathematical solutions with a mathematics degree.
By studying a maths degree, you’ll use a combination of problem solving, analytical, computational and transferable skills that will equip you for a variety of careers. You have the option to select a specialist pathway by selecting modules in business, computing or finance depending on where your interest lies.
You’ll be taught by leading mathematicians in their fields. As well as teaching, our academics are actively involved in research collaborations with colleagues throughout the world, examples from which will be used to illustrate key learning points in lectures and workshops. New material is delivered through lectures, which are complemented by online notes and workshops, where you’ll focus on working through examples, either individually or in small groups, under the guidance of lecturers and mathematical teaching assistants.
We’ll teach you in smaller groups at the beginning to ease you into the course and adapt to university life in general. Extra support is always available through mathematics and numeracy workshops throughout the year where you can seek support in linear algebra, complex calculas, LaTex, MATLAB and more. Our academic staff also run a Maths Café for you to bring along any mathematical-related questions and receive one-to-one support in an informal setting.
