Chiswick House and Gardens Trust is a registered charity, created jointly by English Heritage and the London Borough of Hounslow. The organisation is among the examples of 18th-century British architecture in West London and aims to conserve its historic, horticultural, and natural heritage, sustain and improve biodiversity, and support the local community’s health and well-being. 

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will work alongside Chiswick House and Gardens staff to deliver a consistent experience and help look after its historic collection. As a Visitor Welcome Volunteer, you enhance communication, public speaking, and customer service skills.

Typical duties include:

  • Welcoming visitors to the House, Conservatory, and Kitchen Garden, and helping with access needs
  • Sharing the stories of Chiswick House and Gardens, with visitors of all ages and backgrounds
  • Helping visitors set up and use the audio guides around the House
  • Delivering Spotlight Talks, 5-10 minutes of more in-depth information to a small audience.

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
